Building System VELOX

Building system VELOX, also called permanent formwork system from chip-cementing boards already arose in Austria in 1956 where the first boards were produced. Mr. Franz Steiner -the founder of the company came with the idea to produce insulation boards from depreciated wood. The family company VELOX WERK GesmbH has used rich experiences in building and has introduced the building system VELOX with its virtues which are asserted by constructions of family houses, multistorey dwelling units, hotels, sport centres, hospitals, schools, business and administration buildings etc.

The technology of production uses natural materials-wood, cement which are low energetic, without existence of any exhalation or dangerous waste which would load the environment. On Slovak or Czech market the building system VELOX has been appearing since 1970 when schools and kindergardens have mostly been built by it. However compared to the austrian original, thermo-insulating layer from stabilized polystyrene was not used on external boards in this time. The present quality of new boards VELOX WSD 35 is higher than the quality of boards applied in the past.

Building System VELOX Description

The building system VELOX, also called permanent formwork system introduces technology of monolithical buildings while walls and ceilings are cemented into formwork from chip-cementing boards VELOX prepared in advance, which becomes the permanent part of vertical and horizontal constructions after cement hardening. Wood is the basic material for board production VELOX (89%). The wooden chip is mixed with cement (9%) and soluble glass (2%). The soluble glass stabilizes boards against humidity and increases their resistance against rot and rodents. Cement ensures fastness and coherence of boards. The mixing is filled into forms and compressed by high pressure. Wooden chip ensures thermal balance, cement and soluble glass ensure the resistance against fire and frost and they all together create very tough constructial material.

VELOX boards take over properties of wood, so they are very well-workable, it is possible to cut, drill, nail mill. The possibility of their surface ensures outstanding connection with render and cement and it also fully absorbs properties and noise. Thermo-insulating properties of boards in connection with thermo-insulating material (polystyrene EPS 70S) increase numerously on values which highly excess ordinary onebedded materials. Boards are produced in wide selection considering individual requirements of thermal and sound insulation of constructions. The data of VELOX building system is ensured by its own production of chip-cementing, overhead and transverse brace elements, special connecting grips for formwork construction and delivery of steel spatial girder for the ceiling stiffening.

The offer is enriched by productes with the special usage for soundproof barriers and formwork of rings. In the whole processing the continuous control of board production technology is ensured including final control of board dimensions, board fastness and all the standardized parametres. Boards must be rectangular with full cleaded edges with width, length and thickness which must fit the standardized allowances. The approved technology of production with the effective control ensures boards of high quality of consequent component.
